Lost Sailor India Pale Ale

Miabock Lager

Our Hefeweizen, literally meaning “yeast beer”, pours a hazy, effervescent gold.  Our use of a classic German yeast strain delivers flavors of bananas and clove, followed by a slight and pleasing tartneness.

Sir Perry

Perry is a cool, refreshing pear drink that has been popular in the UK and Europe for centuries. Sir Perry is made in the traditional English style, using 100% fermented pear juice. Not to be confused with American pear cider, which is made from fermented apple juice with pear flavoring added later.

Blackthorn Cider

Classic English Hard Cider – most popular draft cider in Europe.  Dry and not overly sweet.

Prayer Rock Pale Ale
4.4% ABV – OG 1.041
A copper colored American pale ale using 100% cascade hops grown in. Hops bitterness is light, however heavily dry hopped to offer floral aroma & citrus flavor. North American pale malt rounds out a dryer than average.

Downtown Honey Brown

A different twist of the house brown ale, it is brewed with European malts, Vermont wildflower coupled with Liberty & UK Fuggle hop varieties offering a spicy but sweet brown.

South Mountain Stout

Extra Special Oak

Farnum Hill ‘Dooryard’

Dooryard is an old/new concept, like so many things at Poverty Lane Orchards.  When our harvest and fermentation batches vary from the flavors for our established labels (Farmhouse, SemiDry, XDry and XDry Still), we often appreciate (read: quaff down) the ciders that result.  Lucky local Growler customers and other cider insiders may have gotten to sample and enjoy these in the past.  With the interest in ciders growing in this country, and the cider movement reaching a tipping point, we’re bringing our Dooryard series to a wider audience.  Farnum Hill Dooryard is smaller batch, made of really cool stuff not necessarily found in our other blends and is mostly similar to our other ciders.  Also it’s delicious, and carries the stamp of place, time and process.

Our big American IPA brings a clear amber honey brew to your  glass .  Next, a nice thick head that yields to lots of lace. A nose of citrus and fresh grass is quite pleasing. The mouth has lots of caramel up front then right into the Colombus hops—grapefruit and citrus.

Champ Ale
5.5% ABV
An American Pale Ale that is great for the craft brew initiate as well as true aficionados. The nose is of a light hoppiness, some toffee, and fruity notes. This medium bodied brew has crisp carbonation and is extremely drinkable.

Reagin’s Stout
5.2% ABV
The luck of the Irish is brought to you is this brew. An extra foreign stout that pours a jet black body with a thick mocha colored head that takes it’s sweet time settling down. Dry, dark chocolate nose with some vanilla notes lead you to a full bodied and deep mouth. We see that Irish sparkle in yer eye!

Maibock Lager
7.3% ABV
The long winter is broken with this brew. A traditional Bavarian springtime lager that uses the Noble hops to bring a big floral bouquet from the glass. The malt delivers a coppery color with great lacing then carries the mouth along with smoke and bread flavors. A seasonal brew—so the memory of this will have to carry you through next winter.

Firehouse Amber Ale
5% ABV
Our flagship brew, this American Amber Ale gets it’s name from the our original brewhouse. Brattleboro’s historic firehouse is where we pour from today (and tonight!) and you can try these and more of our beers. A copper color with a nose of light hops-citrus and pine. The mouth has malty caramel, toast and the citrus hops. A very drinkable brew that brings visions of the American plains at sunset.

Summerfest Lager

Sierra Nevada Summerfest is a refreshing pilsner-style lager.  While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite.  The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Southern Hemisphere Harvest
6.7% AVB
Our newest addition to our Harvest family! This is the first time we know of that an American brewer has put out a beer with fresh-picked hops from the southern hemisphere. Like our Celebration Ale, the fresh hops in this beer are dried right after being picked then shipped immediately to Chico for brewing so that they retain their peak aromatics and flavors. To ensure the freshest hops possible, we went to the added expense of flying these hops from New Zealand to Chico so we could brew with them the week after they were picked.

SMUTTYNOSE BREWING COMPANY

Star Island Single

Our Star Island Single is an eminently sessionable, abbey-style ale offering a beguiling mix of flavor and refreshment. This medium-bodied golden ale features a slight residual sweetness from Honey Malt and hints of citrus and tropical fruits from the unique Belgian yeast it is fermented with, leaving a crisp dry finish.

Old Brown Dog

Our American style brown ale. Medium bodied with a good malt presence on the pallet ending with a hoppy bite. AWARDED BEST BROWN ALE IN THE NORTHEAST- 8th Annual U.S  Beer Tasting Championship. Compared to a typical English Brown Ale, Old Brown Dog is fuller-bodied and more strongly hopped.

Finestkind IPA
6.9% ABV – 65 IBU
The citrusy hop flavor coming from a mixture of Simcoe and Santiams is pleasantly balanced by a smooth bitterness from the Amarillo hops. The beer itself is light bodied and crisp with a golden color that will throw a slight haze, as we bottle it unfiltered. At 65 IBU’s, this is definitely not a training-wheels IPA, but is meant for hop lovers looking to satisfy their craving in a way that’s not easy to find. We think they’ll be quite pleased.

Stone Sublimely Self Righteous Ale

A reincarnation of the Stone 11th Anniversary Ale, this beautiful black brew melds a dark malt base with an intense infusion of hop bitterness and bright hop aromas. Self Righteous indeed. Chinook, Simcoe and Amarillo Hops.

Double Dry Hopped Stone IPA
6.9% ABV – 71 IBU
A benchmark of the West Coast Style IPA, Stone IPA delivers a fusillade of hop aromas and flavors, with a hint of bready malt for balance. Bitter, dry and pungent, Stone IPA is strictly for those who worship the shrine of hops. This beer undergoes a dry hopping during the initial phases of making this beer and then we FURTHER dry hop again with Centennial and Chinook for events such as this. Columbus, Chinook and Centennial Hops.

Double Dry Hopped Stone Ruination IPA
7.7% ABV
This massive hop monster has a delicious and intensely bitter flavor, perfect for those who seek, crave, and rejoice in beers that have big bold bitter character. A liquid poem to the glory of the hop indeed! We further dry hop this beer with a ridiculous amount of Centennial hops to make this a virtual hop perfume. Columbus and Centennial Hops.

STOUDT’S BREWING COMPANY

Stoudt’s Scarlet Lady ESB
5% ABV
This English Style ale is brewed with Marris Otter and caramel malts for a rich, reddish copper color and smooth malty palate.  The use of aroma and bittering hops additional hops balances the regal, sweet maltiness and imparts a softly perfumed aroma.

Stoudt’s Heifer in Wheat Hefeweizen
5% ABV
Bavarian Style unfiltered wheat beer is brewed with 50% malted barley and 50% malted wheat.  Signature blend of German yeast strains imparts a flavor and aroma reminiscent of bananas, cloves, and bubblegum.

SWITCHBACK

Switchback Ale
ABV 5% – IBU 28
Using only traditional ingredients, Switchback Ale is a reddish-amber ale which is particularly well-balanced, allowing for complexity of flavor coupled with an unusually smooth and refreshing character. Five different malts, select hop varieties, and our own specially cultivated yeast create an ale which leads with hop flavors and a subtle impression of fruit (our yeast’s contribution), followed by a palate pleasing malty finish. Our own special process uses the yeast to naturally carbonate the beer, and we leave it unfiltered. The result is a satisfying brew full of flavor with a remarkably clean and smooth finish.

Roasted Red Ale
ABV 5.2% – IBU 48
Switchback’s Roasted Red Ale is a deep mahogany red colored ale. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this ale uses a combination of caramel and roasted malts and specially selected hops to create a beer with a flavor that leads with a rich malty sweetness balanced with a bold hop signature, followed by a luscious chocolate/cocoa roasty finish.

Ma Walker’s Double Strength Stout

This is a strong, full bodied stout, with roasted barley playing the starring role. It is said that during Prohibition, Ma Walker “quietly” carried on the Inn’s tradition as a tavern by selling bootleg from the basement. We like to think that this brew would have put a smile on her face.

Double IPA

At 5 lbs. of hops per barrel, this is one behemoth Double IPA. Chock fullof Nugget, Columbus and Centennial hops run through our hop-back, then dry-hopped, this beer abounds with bold citrus flavor and aroma.

Wheelman’s Wheat
4.5% ABV
Brewed as celebration of the bicycle and its rider, this wheat beer is the perfect after-ride libation. Brewed  with malted white wheat, coriander, and orange peel, this is a flavorful and refreshing brew that is sure to leave you wanting another.

Farmer Brown
5.4% ABV – 1061 orig. gravity
One of the most popular beers we brew; this is our version of a traditional brown ale. Farmer Brown is low in bitterness with a smooth and malty finish. Like its namesake, it’s outstanding in its field!

THE VERMONT BEER COMPANY

VBCo. Black Pepper Porter
5.2% ABV
Our Devil’s Den Robust Porter rich and smooth finished with a touch of fresh ground black pepper in the boil and again during fermentation. Single hopped with Northern Brewer.

Wait’s River Red Ale

West coast style Red Ale hoppy red ale bittered with cluster hops and finished with several additions of cascade throughout. Well balanced ale with just a bit of Wheat Malt in the grain bill.

THE VERMONT PUB & BREWERY

TULACH LEIS

The Tulach Leis is a Flemish style Vermont Sour Red ale fermented with a strain of brettanomyces yeast. Light to medium bodied mildly sour flavor with a dry and tart cherry finish. The complex malt bill helps to balance the wide range of the Belgian yeast flavors and characteristics. It was the brainchild of the brewers, both past and present, of the Vermont Pub & Brewery. The intention of this beer was to honor the memory of their mentor, Master Brewer and founder of the Vermont Pub & Brewery, Greg Noonan. (Tettenang and Hallertau)

SCREAMIN’ SLACKJAW 88 IPA

A hop head’s delight! Hops, hops and more hops. A big, intense, 88 IBU IPA infused with a fragrant blend of Magnum, Cascade and Citra hops.
